 Matt Eide
Matt Eide, a native of Fort Dodge, Iowa, graduated cum laude from Drake University in 1988 and from Drake University Law School in 1993. He lobbied for the Iowa Association of Realtors (1993-1995), the Iowa Association of Business and Industry (1995 – 2000), and was a partner in the lobbying firm Fitzgerald & Eide before establishing Eide & Heisinger in 2003. Matt was a congressional legislative assistant on Capitol Hill in Washington DC for two years and finance director for a congressional campaign. Matt focuses on tax, employment law, environmental, and financial services issues.

 Lorelei Heisinger
Lorelei Heisinger, currently a consultant to the firm, is a South Dakota native. She graduated from the University of South Dakota in 1989 and with honors from Drake University Law School in 1992. From 1992 to 2000, she practiced law and lobbied for a variety of trade and professional associations, business coalitions, and corporations as a member of, and later partner in, the firm Carney, Appleby, Brewick, and Nielsen. She established the Heisinger Law Firm in 2000, specializing in lobbying and governmental relations, and established Eide & Heisinger in 2003. Lorelei focuses on health care, professional licensing, local government, utility, and legal and judicial issues.

 John Pederson
John was born in Lake Mills, Iowa and graduated from Lake Mills Community High School. He went on to receive a Bachelor’s Degree from Iowa State University.
For the past four years he served as Governor Vilsack’s Policy Advisor working with Department of Natural Resources, Department of Commerce and Agricultural issues for the state.
He served on the Iowa Food Policy Council, Governors Task Force for Keep Iowa Beautiful and helped to secure over 20 million dollars for water quality improvements for the state. John also worked with farmers and other constituent groups on a variety of agricultural issues and concerns in the state.
Prior to his work in the Governor’s office he served as a legislative liaison for the Attorney Generals office for 12 years and a lobbyist for the Iowa Professional Firefighters Association for two years.
John is married to Cyndi Pederson and they reside in Des Moines. They have three daughters, Elizabeth and twins Megan and Allison.

Lynzey Tharp
Lynzey comes to Eide & Heisinger as a second-year law student from Drake Law School, where she's working toward a J.D. and certificate in legislative practice and litigation. Before law school, she served in Governor Tom Vilsack's administration and as a legislative clerk to state Senator Joe Bolkcom.
A native of Carlisle, Iowa, Lynzey graduated from Drake University in 2005 and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Law, Politics and Society. In addition to a law degree, she is currently working toward a joint Master's degree in Public Administration, with an emphasis on public policy. |
