Matt Eide
Matt Eide, a native of Fort Dodge, Iowa, graduated cum laude from Drake University in 1988 and from
Drake University Law School in 1993. He lobbied for the Iowa Association of Realtors (1993-1995), the
Iowa Association of Business and Industry (1995 – 2000), and was a partner in the lobbying firm
Fitzgerald & Eide before establishing Eide & Heisinger in 2003.
Matt was a legislative assistant to Congressman Jim Lightfoot in Washington, D.C. for two years and
Finance Director for Congressman Lightfoot's congressional campaign. Matt focuses on tax, business,
economic development, employment law, and utility issues.

John Pederson
John is a native of Lake Mills, Iowa. He graduated from Lake Mills Community High School and earned a
Bachelor's Degree from Iowa State University.
John began his lobbying career over 20 years ago with the Iowa Professional Firefighters Association.
He spent 12 years as a legislative liaison for Iowa Attorney General Tom Miller and 4 years as a policy
director for former Governor Tom Vilsack. Vilsack is the current United States Secretary of Agriculture.
John has developed an expertise in the appropriation process. He focuses on health care and non-profit
issues.

| Chris Poynor |
Chris Poynor is a native of Gainesville, Florida. He graduated with his B.A. in political science and history from the University of Florida in 2005.
From 2006 until 2010 he was a high school history teacher and baseball coach. During that time he also ran a vocational education program for disabled youth and finished work on a M.Ed. in special education.
Chris is currently a second-year law student at Drake University in Des Moines. He lives in North Liberty with his wife Sara, a physician at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. In June of 2011, Chris and Sara welcomed their first son, Owen.

| Brooke Miller |
Brooke attended Franklin and Marshall College graduating in 2003 with a Major
in Philosophy and a Minor in Asian Studies. Brooke resided in Japan for four
years teaching English as a second language with the Japanese Exchange
Teaching Program (2 years), studying the Japanese language through intensive
course work (1 year) and employed by a Japanese travel agency in Tokyo (1 year).
Upon returning to the United States, Brooke was employed as the Central
Western Iowa Coordinator for the African American Museum of Iowa. During
the 2009, 2010 and 2011 sessions of the Iowa General Assembly, she was
employed as a clerk in the House of Representatives for Representative Helen
Miller (D-Fort Dodge). Since the fall of 2009, Brooke has been a law student
at Drake University Law School in Des Moines, where she is currently in her
3rd year. Brooke will graduate in May with a certificate in Agriculture and
Legislation.
